2014-07-27-Festival-Pollensa-53-ArticuloThis 27th of July the Symphonic Orchestra of the Balearic Islands and Joan Bennàssar present DVD and collaboration at the inaugural concert of the 53rd Festival of Pollença. The event will take place inside the cloister of the town, starting at 21:45 hours.

On February we witnessed the bond of frienship between the Orchestra and the Pollencian painter at the interpretation of The song of the Earth, by Gustav Mahler (watch the article of February), but in this occasion their common project is absolutely consolidated under the format of a formidable DVD that combines both music and painting as never before. The sound was provided by Iker Olabe, who recorded their last performance, and the transition of the images has been reinforced with new canvases conceived specially for the ocasion. The DVD has a run of 5.000 copies and will be distibuted for free among the assistants, who will be able to value the results at first hand and with live music.

The Festival of Pollença, currently directed by the renowned Joan Valent, is one of the best meetings for experts and lovers of classical music on the island, and the Symphonic Orchestra of the Balearic Islands, directed by Josep Vicent, has decided to bet for the tenor Albert Montserrat and the mezzo-soprano Lorena Medina to attend the appointment.
